The Lessons:
The price for one on one tuition is $33 per lesson. The lessons are half an hour each, but often run over about ten minutes. Lessons are available from Monday through to Friday from morning until evening, there are some spaces on Saturday morning. The Guitar Studio is situated on Lake Road, Hamilton.
In addition to the tuition, students receive copies of all the notes, useful print outs and any backing tracks. Portions of the lessons are captured on video (tutor demonstrating) so that you can access them later on-line, this ensures that you have suitable reference material to study between lessons. When students finish working on a song, they have the option to do a recording of that song here at the Studio (as part of the learning process) so they can document their progress.
Lessons cater for all styles, levels and all ages.
Lessons are held at the studio in Hamilton, and are also available via HQ Video conference.
How I teach:
I get a balanced process happening, where you are getting a good progressive understanding for the instrument, fret board harmony etc, and how that applies to music and music theory, including (optional) theory grades through the internationally recognised Trinity College of Music London. Music Theory is encouraged, providing the student is interested. Most importantly I make sure that you are having fun with what you are doing. I do my best to tailor the lessons to suit the individual student so that you are getting to play what you want to play. It’s all about getting you to have fun on the instrument. Enthusiasm is self sustaining.
